WOW! Time has really just flown by!
In a week's time, I will be all packed up and headed home for the summer.
First year at university has been full of so many emotions and I am fortunate, as a Schulich Leader, to have been able to experience them all. It seems like it was just last week that I was an anxious and hesitant girl that did not know what she was going into by moving to a new place. Now, I love walking across the gorgeous campus that UVic has to offer and I can't imagine myself not attending university. I am really happy that I chose to come to UVic to carry out my undergraduate degree. This school has an amazing atmosphere and is full of great-minded individuals. I am already getting ready for next year by planning out my classes and looking for housing. I am really excited!
The classes I took this year really solidified my want to enter the biochemistry and microbiology program. I am fascinated by the study of life and all the processes that, regardless of how miniscule they are, play a vital role in the body of organisms.
I regret not being more involved with the school community this year. One of the most important skills I have learnt from these past eight months has been how to proficiently juggle my time between classes, studying, a social life, and a job. It has not been easy and making proactive decisions really does make a difference. Next year, it is my goal to join a club, volunteer, and participate in more of the events that are offered. The University of Victoria is such a diverse school and I am sure I will find something that is perfect for me.
Being a Schulich Leader has allowed me to try new things and meet new people and learn more about myself. I am really looking forward to coming back to UVic in September. I love learning and am excited for the many opportunities that will be coming my way.
