What is your favourite inspirational quote?
“Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us.’ We ask ourselves, who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, and fabulous? Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small does not serve the world. There’s nothing enlighten about shrinking so that other people won’t feel insecure around you. We are all meant to shine, as children do. We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us. It’s not just in some of us; it’s in everyone. And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we’re liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others.” – Marianne Williamson
What is a little known fact about yourself?
My first household language was French, though with time English became the language I was the most practiced in. I do speak three languages, French, Creole (Caribbean dialect) and English.
Why do you think you make a great Schulich Leader?
Being a Schulich Leader is about being diverse in your endeavors. The scholastic aspect is a must, for the pursuit of knowledge for the betterment of the self is what makes a great and wise leader. My interest in the sciences mirrors that of a great leader as Mr. Schulich. Besides being intrigued by the intrinsic value of knowledge, I love and thrive on competition. Having been the captain of numerous teams, I understand what it means to lead by example along with the mental toughness required to push your body and mind beyond its perceived limitations, which has a direct application in the classrooms. Thus, being a Student-Athlete has equipped me with the tools to be a leader in all facets of life, a vital combination that defines what it means to be a Schulich Leader.
