What is your favourite inspirational quote?

What is a little known fact about you?

I’m an avid outdoors-person. That ranges from loving hiking and kayaking to a broad knowledge of BC flora to growing awesome tomatoes! The natural world inspires me to think differently about problems and motivates me to be more sustainable everyday.

Why do you make a great Schulich Leader?

I’m passionate about STEM, and how we can put it to use to make our world a better place. Engineering is what makes me curious, and makes me want to explore all the different properties and patterns we have here in the universe. I want to put all that curiosity and knowledge towards solving issues like clean water, sustainable energy, and biomedical devices (plus, I love a good challenge)!    Also, as a non-binary person, I am pretty big on advocacy for diversity in engineering. I love reaching out to younger kids who are typically under-represented in STEM fields (for example, girls in engineering), and spreading my excitement to them. We can all learn something from their diverse and creative ideas! In short, I want to do my best for humanity with the limited time I’ve got, and thanks to the Schulich Scholarship, I can.
