Western, York confirm their 2016 Schulich Leaders!

In 2016, Western University was amongst the “Top Five” universities to attract the most Nominee applications, awarding them the opportunity to provide two additional Schulich Leader Scholarships.

In late May, Western welcomed four exceptional recipients to the Schulich Leaders Network. Sandra Sabongui of TMS School in Richmond Hill, ON will be enrolling in the Faculty of Science along with Linda Guo from Westwood Community High School in Fort McMurry, Alberta. Accepting offers to pursue a Bachelor’s of Engineering are Amelia Carver from Cawthra Park Secondary School in Mississauga, Ontario and Lovdeep Singh from Enver Creek Secondary in Surrey, BC. All four candidates come from high schools producing a winning recipient for the first time.

York University finalized their 2016 recipients, welcoming two terrific new scholars to campus this coming fall. Rathesh Balendran of Abelard Centre for Education in Toronto is pursuing a Bachlor of Science, while Arma Khan of Laura Secord Secondary School in St. Catharine’s, ON is pursuing a Bachlor of Engineering. This is the second Schulich Leader from Laura Secord Secondary; Alex Dhaliwal previously won in 2013 at McMaster University. Abelard Centre for Education has produced a winning recipeint for the first time.
