1 May, 2016

McMaster and UWaterloo confirm their 2016 Schulich Leaders:

Emma Mogus of White Oaks Secondary School in Oakville, ON has been selected as one of two science-based recipients at McMaster University. Seyedbehrad Dehnadi, a graduating student of John Polanyi Collegiate Institute in Toronto, ON. Accepting the engineering scholarship offers are Hampton, Ontario’s Erin Puersten from Clarington Central Secondary School (a new participating school!) and Kaylie Lau from Bishop Allen Academy. Marta Skreta from Bishop Allen previously won the award to study science at McMaster in 2014, while the other three high schools produced winners from Nominees submitted for the first time in their history with the program.

Fellow top fiver, University of Waterloo also welcomed four scholars into their illustrious network of Schulich Leaders, all hailing from high schools producing winning recipients for the first time! Emma Paynter from Three Oaks Senior High School in Summerside, PEI will be pursuing a Bachelor of Science. Pursuing a Bachelor of Mathematics is Kyne Santos from St. Mary’s High School in Kitchener, ON. Identifying more top talent from an Atlantic province, UW offered a Bay Roberts, Newfoundland resident, Mackenzie Collins of Ascension Collegiate the $80,000 engineering scholarship. The second engineering scholarship was offered to Colin Daly currently studying at Cathedral High School in Hamilton, ON.

We wish these exceptional scholars great success in their higher education pursuits of Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics with our support!
