Why do you make a great Schulich Leader?

Every scientist has a story of what led them into their field, and every scientist has a story of where their field led them. For me, receiving mentorship and participating in enrichment opportunities catalysed my passion for intellectual exploration in STEM. From this personal experience, I understand first-hand the importance of providing high-impact, accessible, and engaging outreach programs for youth. As a result, I strive to act as an ambassador for STEM fields for younger generations by creating an inclusive and welcoming environment where youth can unlock their hidden potential. My goal is to tell youth that they can be strong, smart, and innovative—or even better, prove to them that they have been those things all along. As a Schulich Leader, I hope that I can serve as a role model to young girls while providing the next generation of leaders with the foundational skills and self-confidence they need to become the next global pioneers in STEM.
