Hi everyone,
This last semester went by so fast and before I knew, the final exams were over and it was summer time! I really enjoyed this semester because I had more courses about exotic animals, which we don’t often have the chance to see. We had our first contact with them alive. There was different kind of snakes and lizards, I really loved learning about their behavior and their environment. We had some theoretical courses about their physiology and anatomy, afterward we dissected some reptiles (who came from a pet store where owners of reptiles can drop them off when they die). It was just so interesting and unusual. I also really appreciate this semester because we had more labs, and we touched equipment that I’ve never used before. I always love learning new stuff but it’s easier to learn when we had the chance to manipulate and experiment. The teachers are still so great. I’m still investing some of my time in the school dog shelter, and it’s offici al, next year I’ll be with some friends responsible for the adoption of all the dog, so we’ll be the one to take care of them when they come in and take care of the formality of the adoption. I’m sure it’s going to be a great experience!!!
It’s been a really awesome first year in the veterinary medicine program and I am now proud to say that I am 20% a veterinarian. I hope you all have a very good, well deserved summer.
